INTRODUCING GRANT & JOYCE RICHISON
Advancing Indigenous Missions is very pleased to announce that Dr. Grant
Richison has been appointed speaker/writer with us as of September 2010.
Dr. Richison has served on the council of AIM since 2000. We also welcome
Joyce Richison as his personal executive secretary.
Following the momentous Bangladesh Leadership Training Seminar (LTS)
with 550 indigenous missionary delegates in March 2009, Dr. Richison
clearly sensed that he wanted to do whatever he could to help our ministry.
His assessment was summarized in the following observation. "AIM is
working with Indigenous Missions to create the conditions necessary to
support awakenings. I want to be a part of seeing the considerable growth
of indigenous churches be solid and increased."
Following the 20 year tenures as Senior Pastor of Grant Memorial Church
in Winnipeg, and theologian with Campus Crusade for Christ, Canada and
International, I cannot think of anyone I would rather welcome to the staff
of AIM. He is a superb New Testament teacher, ideal to conduct seminars
with indigenous missionaries around the world.
Dr. Richison has already had a considerable impact on our team: developing
verse by verse commentaries of numerous books of the Bible, leadership
development on our LTS teams over the past two years, strategic mission
planning, evaluating international projects, and networking with effective
ministries in many parts of the world. Dr. Richison is also assisting us in
selecting emerging expositors to mentor and to develop in the coming years.
At the LTS in Orissa (November 2010),
Dr. Richison called the delegates to the wonder of the two finely crafted
books that God has given to prepare us for suffering: Job in the O.T. and 1
Peter in the N.T. We were encouraged that the most noble and the greatest
honors are because God has chosen us to suffer for His Name. I know of
no other more capable messenger than Dr. Richison to bring out the precise
meaning of the original text. These delegates for God to the tribal people
of Orissa are meeting a tireless worker as he uncovers the beauty of Jesus.
