With this Newsletter I want to personally ask you to "enter radical" with me. World mission is total war! It is not for the faint of heart. God has called us to fight in His army as wholehearted intercessors. I was crying out to God this morning that our work at AIM would be bathed in prayer.

Today I want to call you to intercession. This Biblical call is powerfully illustrated in the life of the godly King Hezekiah. Sennacherib had gathered his vast army to crush Jerusalem. Hezekiah’s army was miniscule in comparison. All that seemed to remain was the victorious shouting of the invading military after their conquest.

Then King Hezekiah "entered radical". "When Hezekiah heard their report, he tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and went into the Temple of the Lord to pray” (2 Kings 19:1). Hezekiah knew there was no alternative. Either the God of Israel would fight for them or they would be destroyed by this brutal enemy.

Isaiah, the prophet, spoke confidently to Hezekiah. "Do not be disturbed by this blasphemous speech against me from the Assyrian king's messengers. Listen! I myself will move against him, and the king will receive a report from Assyria telling him that he is needed at home. Then I will make Him want to return to his land, where I will have him killed with a sword" (vv. 6-7). That night the battle was won by the Angel of the LORD (185,000 casualties), without one loss to the army of Hezekiah!

AIM will accomplish absolutely nothing without unusual, persistent prayer. Evangelist Kirit Debbarma knows that the state wide AIM Leadership Seminar gathering next month in Tripura, India will call the delegates to growth and holy living. All will go for naught unless the issues of sheep stealing, slander, mistrust, jealousy and pride are dealt with head-on. Only Christ’s intervention will bring the church to radical ministry to the Bengali majority. Hatred for the interlopers who have taken their best land must be replaced with the recognition that Jesus died for these Bengalis as well. Will you radically call on God to bring this about?

The 57 students enrolled at our partner's Bible College in Myanmar will be marking time unless God's Spirit mightily moves in their hearts. During their summer break a student team saw the Lord draw 40 new souls to Himself. Imagine the impact over the next 50 years of these disciples, if they remain faithful to the call? Could the vast numbers of Buddhists in this land see clearly that Christ is the all-sufficient Saviour?

Will the incredibly resistant citizens of the state of Bihar continue to turn to Christ in wonderful numbers? David Platt, author of the books Radical and Radical Together has recently recorded his experience of seeing many Indians turning to Christ in this population of 103 million.

Our AIM name begins with Advancing, a military term. In our brief 16 year history we have seen the Lord answer prayers so wonderfully and repeatedly! The Lord has called us to hone our focus. Those who have left the deepest impression on this sin-cursed earth have primarily prayed. Join us in "entering radical"!
